2nd Grade Parent Update

Week of May 7 - 11

Congratulations to our First Communicants and their families!

Announcements for this Week:

Meet New Principal, Mrs. Suzanne Jones

Please take advantage of two upcoming opportunities to meet our new principal, Mrs. Suzanne Jones! We will be hosting a Meet and Greet on Tuesday, May 8 at 6:30 PM in the Parish Hall. She will also be present at the mandatory General Parent Meeting on Monday, May 14 at 6:30 PM in the Parish Hall.

 May Crowning Mass

There will be a special school Mass on Friday, May 11 at 11:00 AM in honor of the Crowning of Mary. Students are encouraged to bring cut flowers for Mary. The second graders will be participating in this Mass as the Honor Guard. They should dress in their First Communion attire or white dresses for the girls and white shirts and black slacks for the boys. Parents are invited to join us for Mass.

Looking Ahead:

Mandatory Parent Meeting

The last parent meeting of the year will be held on Monday, May 14 at 6:30 PM in the Parish Hall. Come join us to hear our end-of-the-year announcements, make plans for the 2012-2013 school year, and meet our new principal, Mrs. Jones!

Activity Day

Activity Day will take place on Friday, May 18 in the Front Yard. Students should wear their P.E. uniforms to school along with sunscreen and a hat. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 17 instead of Friday this week.

Race for Success

Loyola Marymount University is hosting its annual Race for Success to support Westchester, Playa del Rey, and Playa Vista schools. You can get involved by pledging and participating in the 5K Run/Walk or the Kids 1K. You can also donate $10 and register as a Virtual Runner online. Memorial Day Weekend

There will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, May 25 due to a Staff Development Meeting. There will also be NO SCHOOL on Monday, May 28 in honor of Memorial Day. Enjoy the long weekend!

Field Trip to Los Angeles Zoo

We will join the primary grades for a field trip to the zoo on Thursday, June 7. More details will be forthcoming, along with permission slips for the trip.
