Week of October 24 - 28

2nd Grade Parent Update
Week of October 24 - 28
Announcements for this Week:
STEM Workshop
I will be attending a professional development workshop on Tuesday, October 25 at the California Science Center. The workshop will focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Mrs. Heppell will be my substitute for the day.
October Awards Assembly
This month’s Awards Assembly will be on Thursday, October 27 at 8:00 AM in the Front Yard. At the Assembly, we will celebrate October birthdays and honor the Virtue Award winners for the month. This month’s virtue is Fairness. Students are encouraged to take turns and share, play by the rules, and get along with others.
Make Up Picture Day
Photographers will be on campus on Thursday, October 27 to take pictures of anyone who was absent on Picture Day. Please contact the Main Office for more information on picture re-takes, and remember that school uniforms should be worn for the pictures.
Looking Ahead:
Halloween Festivities
The annual Halloween Parade will take place on Monday, October 31 at 8:00 AM on the Backyard. Students may wear school-appropriate Halloween costumes which should not include weapons of any kind. Any masks must be removed in the classroom. Come see our little monsters strut their stuff on the catwalk! School will be dismissed at 12:30 PM on Halloween. Trick or treat!
All Saints’ Day Mass
There will be a special Mass on Tuesday, November 1 at 8:00 AM as we join with the parish community in celebrating the Solemnity of All Saints. Please make sure that students arrive at school at 7:45 AM on Tuesday, November 1 in their dress uniforms. You are welcome to join us for this special Mass.
Gateway to Art
We will have our first Gateway to Art session during the afternoon of Thursday, November 3 from 1:30 - 3:00 PM in the Art Room. You may have already heard from our docent, Mrs. Rogers, about opportunities to volunteer to help with the project. Please let us know if you are able to join us!

Parent Conferences will take place November 7 - 10. There will be sign-up sheets to reserve appointment times posted in Building A next week.
