Spelling Scramble Homework

Good evening, parents!

I just wanted to let you know that there was a problem with the Spelling Scramble homework sheet that was sent home today.

The letters that are scrambled were for last week's spelling words! I apologize for this error, and I want to thank my friends in Extended Care for bringing this mistake to my attention.

Students can practice writing their Spelling Words for this week on the lines provided and simply ignore the scrambled letters.

Again, I'm sorry for the confusion!

Think Pink Dollar Dayz!

On Thursday, October 6, the Student Council is sponsoring another Non-Uniform Dollar Day! The theme for this month is: Think Pink! for Breast Cancer Awareness. Students can earn Spirit Points for their classes by dressing in theme!

On Thursday, students may make a small donation to wear non-uniform dress
$1.00 - Students may wear accessories.
$1.00 - Students may wear a non-uniform top OR bottom with the other half in uniform.
$2.00 - Students may wear non-uniform tops and bottoms with accessories.
Students may also purchase pink ribbons to support breast cancer research for $.25

Students are paying for the privilege to wear non-uniform dress. Please refer to our School Policy Manual (pp. 38 - 40) or send me an email for any questions about the Non-Uniform Dress Code. The School Policy Manual is accessible on the St. Jerome School website, and there will also be a half-sheet in the Tuesday Envelope with a few key reminders.

Please note that students may only wear T-Shirts if they are "in theme". In this case, T-Shirts will only be allowed if they are pink or support the Breast Cancer Awareness theme (i.e. pink ribbons, a message about breast cancer awareness, etc.) No other T-Shirts that are screened or contain a logo may be worn.

Please contact me with any questions, and I will be happy to address them! Think Pink and keep all those whose lives have been affected by breast cancer in your prayers!

Week of October 3 - 7

2nd Grade Parent Update
Week of October 3 - 7
Congratulations to 2nd Grade for winning the Spirit Banner for September!
We take pride in our school and participate in Student Council events.
Announcements for this Week:
Progress Reports
Progress Reports for the First Trimester will be sent home on Tuesday, October 4 only for those students who may be struggling in a particular area and may require additional support. You may contact me for more information.
Think Pink Dollar Dayz
This Thursday, October 6, Student Council will be offering another Non-Uniform “Dollar Day”. The theme for this month is Think Pink! for Breast Cancer Awareness. I know there was a bit of confusion last month about appropriate Theme and Non-Uniform Dress, and the Student Council has tried to address your concerns. There will be a half-sheet of information and reminders coming home in your Tuesday Envelope. The big idea that I think we missed last time is that T-Shirts are permitted ONLY if they are in theme, otherwise students must wear a blouse or collared shirt. Spirit Points are earned for dressing in theme.
Carnival T-Shirt Fridays
In order to generate excitement about our upcoming school carnival, students will be permitted to wear Carnival T-Shirts on Fridays. T-Shirts may be purchased at a cost of $10 and must be worn with other regular uniform apparel. Students will earn Spirit Points for our class by wearing their Carnival T-Shirts!
Special School Mass
There will be a special school Mass this Friday, October 7 at 8:00 AM in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary. The Mass will be hosted by 7th Grade. Since it is the first Friday of the month, we will also be joining the parish community in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament after Mass. This will be a new experience for many of the children, but Monsignor Priebe has invited us to join in the celebration of International Children’s Eucharistic Adoration Day. On this day, all over the world, children will gather to pray for peace in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. We will participate by staying a few minutes after Mass for quiet prayer and meditation. As always, you are most welcome to join us at Mass!
