2nd Grade Parent Update
Week of June 4 - 8
Announcements for this Week:
Homework for Monday
In honor of Sister Judy’s retirement, St. Jerome students have been asked to come together to create a memorable and meaningful gift for her. Since she enjoys cooking, students have been asked to each contribute one of their family’s favorite recipes to be included in a St. Jerome Family Cookbook. Students should handwrite the recipe with an adult’s help to ensure accuracy and legibility.
Upcoming Field Trips
Our field trip to the Los Angeles Zoo will take place on Thursday, June 7. Please remember to send your child’s lunch in a disposable bag labeled with his or her name - no lunch boxes, no tupperware! I also suggest that students wear their P.E. uniforms and tennis shoes as they will be more comfortable for walking.
We will also have a field trip on Friday, June 8 to Westport Heights Elementary to visit our pen pal class at their school. This will be a walking field trip, and we are still in need of a few parent chaperones to assist with safety and supervision during the walk to and from St. Jerome. Please contact me if you are interested.
Eighth Grade Graduation
Graduation will be held on Friday, June 8 at 6:00 PM in the Church. Students are invited to attend this special school event and participate by singing in the choir. Students in the choir should wear their school uniforms and arrive by 5:30 PM.
Looking Ahead:
End of the Year Awards Ceremony
Parents and families are invited to attend the annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, June 13 at 11:00 AM in the Church. Students will be honored for outstanding scholarship, improvement in academics, Christian leadership, performance in physical education, participation in athletics, and attendance.
School will be dismissed after the ceremony at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, June 13.
Last Day of School
The last day of school will be Thursday, June 14. Students will attend Mass at 8:00 AM, pick up their report cards in their classrooms, and then be dismissed for pick-up or participation in the Knott’s Berry Farm Field Trip. Parents are welcome to attend the Mass and accompany their children to their classrooms for report cards. Students will be dismissed for pick-up at 9:00 AM.
