2nd Grade Parent Update
Week of September 26 - 30
Thank you for all of those who attended our Second Grade Social on Thursday.
If you missed it, don’t worry - we’ll have another get-together soon!
Announcements for this Week:
ITBS Testing
We completed our ITBS Testing last week on Friday with great success! I want to thank the students for all of their hard work and attention over the past week, and I also want to acknowledge you, their families, for supporting them in their efforts. Test results should arrive in about six weeks, and we can discuss any questions or concerns you may have at parent conferences in November.
September Awards Assembly
The Awards Assembly for September will take place on Thursday, September 29 at 8:00 AM on the Backyard. At the assembly, we will be recognizing the Virtue Award winners for this month. September’s virtue has been: Responsibility.
Feast of St. Jerome Mass
There will be a special school Mass on Friday, September 30 at 11:00 AM in honor of the Feast of St. Jerome, the patron saint of our parish. You and your families are welcome to join us!
Emergency Kits
Last week, you should have received information about putting together a kit for your child to keep at school in the case of an emergency. Emergency Kits are DUE on Friday, September 30. Please send the kits to the classroom this week.
Looking Ahead:
Progress Reports
Progress Reports for the First Trimester will be sent home on Tuesday, October 4 only for those students who may be struggling in a particular area and may require additional support.
School Carnival and Silent Auction
The St. Jerome School Carnival is fast approaching - it will be held the weekend of October 21 - 23. This is a wonderful opportunity to “Come Together as a Community”, and the SSO is offering some great class incentives in order to encourage participation in our fundraising efforts for the Carnival.
We have already received several of your volunteer forms, so thank you for your efforts so far! If you have any questions about donating or volunteering, you may contact our Room Parents or Mrs. Cobbs in the Main Office for details.
Don’t forget! At this time, there are two big ways you can help our class:
1. Donate items for our Silent Auction Class Basket: Scrapbooking Galore!
